Birthing Dreams
Our collective goal as a married couple for 2024 was to go live with our website and to actively start posting. We wanted this to happen in February, but that’s not quite how it turned out. The website was finally birthed on November 2nd, 2024. It took nine months to finally birth The Power of the Overflow.
Yes, I said “birthed.” Just like the birthing of a baby, our website went through a gestation period, contractions, and labor. Our gestation period started with learning about how to start a blog and creating a website. After spending some time researching, I finally found an easy way to get our website built. We could buy a premade website that I could change the design and colors to fit our needs and have access to the creator to ask questions. I was like, “This would be easy.” Little did I know that it was going to be a long process to get it started. I call that long process, our gestation period. In September, we started to feel the contractions of time. There were three more months left in the year, and we had not launched yet. The contractions of time had caused us to go into labor—the labor of getting the website up and running by our due date, November 2nd. There was one large contraction that we had to work through in order to launch; a coding issue. We were able to breathe through the coding issue with the support of a webmaster that was able to make the necessary changes so we could fully birth our website on our due date. On November 2nd, we went live with the … I’m sharing our story to encourage you not to give up on your goal that you have in your heart or written down that you want to accomplish. There might be some labor pains through the process of accomplishing your goal but don’t give up. Stop and take a deep breath and continue working toward your goal. Also, if you get stuck, ask someone you trust for help. YOU GOT THIS! I saw this picture on Facebook and I thought it fit well with our blog post for today. |
